MK Mailroom · last updated 20 September 2026

MK Mailroom ("the application") is a personal, single-user command-line tool. It is not a service, has no hosted component, and is not offered to the public. The only person who uses it is its author, acting on the author's own Google Account.

Information the application accesses

With the account owner's explicit consent, the application reads messages and attachments from the owner's own Gmail mailbox, restricted to messages matching a configured search query. It accesses no other Google data. No Drive or Calendar scope is requested.

How the information is used

Solely to build a local, searchable index of the account owner's own correspondence and to extract attachments (such as invoices and tax documents) to local files, so that they can be read and reconciled offline.

Where the information is stored

Entirely on the account owner's own computer, in a local SQLite database and local files. Nothing is uploaded, hosted, backed up to a third party, or transmitted anywhere. There is no server to store it on.

Sharing

None. The application does not transfer Google user data to any third party. It does not sell data, does not serve advertising, contains no analytics or telemetry, and does not use the data for any purpose other than the one described above. No human other than the account owner reads the data, and it is never used to train any AI or machine-learning model.

Limited Use disclosure

The application's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Retention and deletion

Data persists in the local index only as long as the owner keeps it, and is deleted by removing the local database and attachment files. Deleting them removes every copy.

Withdrawing access

Authorization may be revoked at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions, which immediately invalidates the application's stored credentials.
